We are holding our Autumn seminar on 22nd November 2016 in Mold. (Venue to be confirmed.)
The focus will be on how schools can engage with families and work with them to keep learners safe.
There will be a keynote speaker plus plenty of opportunity to network over a free lunch.
We will also set out the new IIF offer to schools and will formally launch the library of effective practice.
There will also be a presentation to schools in Flintshre that have recently gained the quality mark.
Full details will be sent to schools in Flintshire with a registration form shortly.
Our first seminar of the school year will focus on how schools can engage with families to keep learners safe.
There will be an overview of the range of issues that affect children and young people as they grow up in our modern society.
There will also be contributions from primary and secondary schools on working with families in this sensitive area.
The IIF annual conference will take place at the Swalec Stadium in Cardiff on Tuesday 21st March 2017.
We are currently putting the programme for the day together, which will be a mixture of
- keynote speeches
- panel sessions
- workshops demonstrating effective practice
- an exhibition area
Member schools will each receive one free place and other places at half-price.
The Summer Seminar will be held at the Swalec Stadium in Cardiff at 10.00 on Wednesday 6th July 2016.
The seminar will include a short presentation on the new arrangements for IIF in Wales, including our partnership arrangements with Glamorgan County Cricket Club and the outreach work that the club is involved in.
There will also be a presentation on a new e-safety app for primary schools and “chatFOSS” a new app for schools that is enables students to learn how to use social media safely.
After a light lunch, attendees at the seminar will be able to go on a short tour of the stadium.
